HELP!

Ok heres the deal.  Since late Dec I have been yo-yoing back and forth from 194 to 189.  I have gotten back to basics with my food and thought ok this is working, but then the next week I am back up.  I am going to the gym at least three times a week and actually running now.  This week like as of yesterday I was 188.0 and thought ok I am good and losing again.  My food choices have been good and I went to the gym only once this week, but went three times last week.  Today I get on the scale for a "weigh in Friday" and uggggg 190.0.  Whats the deal!  I don't think I need a fill as I am not hungry, stay satisfied, and when I am not careful I still get stuck.  I am not freaking out.  I have been thinking maybe this is where my body should be.  Would that be so bad?  Would not reaching my goal of 100 lbs be so bad?  I feel great, look great, and have some great NSVs.  Is my goal of being able to walk into any store and be able to fit into a pair of jeans to lofty of a goal?  Its not so much the number on the scale, its the last goal of fitting into any stores jeans that I am off about.  I think I could maintain just fine at this point, but I am not sure I want to yet.

Ideas, thoughts, comments?

  1. How many calories are you eating per day? How many calories are you burning?

    For some reason if i do not eat 1200 calories a day even when I burn some I do not loose weight.

  2. I try to keep calories at 1000 and that has worked for me, but usually I end up hitting 1200 cals a day.

  3. When I went to the surgeon for my first consultation he asked me how much weight I wanted to lose. I answered with its not the number, its a feeling. I just want to feel good. You've already said that you feel good, and you certainly look good in your pictures. I wouldn't beat yourself up. Go with your gut and how you feel! If you want to lose more, keep working at it and it will come off. My trainer suggested to me to alternate my calorie days. Such as 1 day @ 1000 then go to 1100, then 1200, back to 1100, back to 1000 just alternate. I try to do this on sunday thru fri and save my 1200-1300 for Saturday with my family. Now that I have tried to help you I think I may have figured my problem out!

  4. are you limiting your sodium intake? that can mess with your #'s on the scale pretty significantly.

  5. Only you can answer these questions. Would you be happy at ~190 for the rest of your life?

  6. Have you tried including a wider variety of foods? Our bodies get in a rut if you feed them the same thing over and over. Sometimes you can stick to the same calories just made up in a different way. Are you getting enough fresh fruit and veg? Not easy at this time of year but still important?
    If you are happy at 190, then that's great, stay there. If you want a break from losing, stay there for a few months and enjoy it until you are ready to do battle again. If you still want to loose that 100lb goal, keep fighting, it will come off eventually and we will be here cheering you on the entire time. xx

I would go talk to your fill nurse/surgeon [not sure how it works in the States] I have had the same issue, just in the last 12 weeks - yo-yoing up and down about 3-4 lbs, and it's so frustrating! So I finally made an appointment, and my fill nurse was like, "duh! You need a little fill!" And I had the same feelings you did - needed to be careful not to get stuck, wasn't super hungry, was staying satisfied...anyway, I would go talk to your surgeon, and see what they say!

  8. I wouldn't fret too much!!! I would go talk with your doctor and see what he says, but you have done a great job!! As long as you are in a happy place that is what matters.
